For the Love of Marchesa

Lately, I have this unexplainable obsession with Marchesa. It seems like every actress who wants to be noticed slips into one of these gorgeous gowns and effortlessly becomes the centre of attention! I've put together a small collection of my favourites over the past few months. Please try not to drool all over your computer screen like I am.

Joely Richardson from the makeover show Nip/Tuck, wore this amazing Marchesa creation to a premier at the London Film Festival just last week. The nude and black lace dress underneath is beautiful on its own, but then you add dramatic black tule on top! Perfection only Marchesa could pull off.

Halle Berry wore this Marchesa gown to the 83rd Annual Academy Awards in February, 2011. I don't even know where to start; the colour is perfect on her, the beading is so intricate and beautiful, and the burst of tule at the bottom... well thats what makes it a Marchesa.

Olivia Wilde wore this ball gown to the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards in January, 2011. This dress is amazing. The way the sparkling beaded detailing takes over the bodice and trails throughout the full skirt is gorgeous. I love the drama of this dress, and the way it screams for attention- which is exactly what it got.

Kate Beckinsale wore Marchesa to a premier at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. She looked stunning! The colour is beautiful, and the detailing is incredible. The beaded bodice would be nice on its own, but the designer adds criss-cross tule to make it truly Marchesa. Some might say the skirt is too much, but nothing is too dramatic for Cannes Film Festival.

Want more Marchesa? Watch the Spring 2012 fashion show from New York Fashion Week below! I have no doubt these will be showing up on the red carpet soon!
