Heidi Klum and Seal Split

Heidi Klum and Seal have been the latest victims of a Hollywood breakup. After almost seven years of marriage, the Victoria's Secret Model and Singer have decided to separate (apparently mutually). The pair have three children together, and one from Heidi's previous relationship with Flavio Briatore. Although not Seal's biological daughter, Heidi has always said he is the father. I consider Heidi and Seal to have been one of the most romantic and in love couples around; always showing (almost too much) PDA, and renewing their vows every year. They were originally married on a Mexican beach, and since then they have a ceremony on a beach every year on their anniversary to read their vows.

In a joint statement to People Magazine, the couple says, "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well being of our children remains our top priority especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."

Last year, when Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, AKA 'fashion power couple', announced their separation, I put together a collection of my favourite looks from over the years. It's with great sadness, that I have to post a second blog in honour of another fallen fashion powerhouse couple.

The couple attended the 2006 Emmy Awards looking amazing. Heidi wore this gorgous one-shoulder Michael Kors gown with thigh high slit. Her favourite colour is red, and I'm glad it is, because the shade looks great on her. The draping of the gown shows off her baby bump beautifully, and Seal looks great standing happily at her side.

One year later, at the 2007 Emmy Awards, Heidi and Seal channeled some serious old Hollywood glamour. Heidi chose a deep purple draped Dior gown by John Galliano, and seal matched nicely in a Dior suit.

The duo made an unforgettable appearance at the 2008 Academy Awards. Heidi wore a custom made silk taffeta gown by John Galliano (in her favourite colour of course), and seal looked great along side her in a tailored suit. To this day I find this dress so different and intriguing, especially the piece that wraps around the back of her neck.

Later that same night for the after party, Heidi slipped out of her custom ball gown, and into something a little easier to mingle in. The shimmering Roberto Cavalli mini was fun, and the perfect choice for a party.

For the 2010 Emmy Awards, heidi chose this amazing mini by Marchesa. The intricate dress was completely covered in rosettes and lace. I just love the contrast, it's so interesting -dark and edgy, yet girly and innocent. And how about that gorgeous statement necklace? The perfect finishing touch. Heidi's leading man looked great and relaxed in a black Dior suit.

One thing Seal and Heidi were known for, was their love for Halloween. Every year they threw a big party, and always showed up wearing the best costumes. Here's a small collection of my favourites.

My Fave Blogs!

This week, I'd like to take the oportunity to suggest some other great blogs to check out. Blogging is such an important part of social media, and allows you to share your ideas and thoughts. It's a place you can be yourself, and talk about your passions. Many students use it as a way to break free from homework and speak their mind. In CreComm we're actually lucky enought to have it as part of our curriculum! How fun is that? So, below are a few blogs that I enjoy reading, and hope you do too!

Dressed by Best is a fashion blog created and written by my good friend Lauren Best. She's also a first year CreCommer, and is looking forward to her future in Fashion PR. She blogs about all things fashion, from icons, to designers, to runway shows. Love her, and love her blog. Check it out for your weekly fashion fix!

My favourite recent post by Lauren is on the famous scandal involving John Galliano and fashion powerhouse Dior. Read it!

Bevy Break is a drink blog, written by another fabulous CreCommer, Emily Doer. She tries out new drinks every week and tells you about the best ones for different occasions. She also gives you great instructions on how to make them at home! It's an awesome blog to check out if you're going to be hosting a party and want to show off your bartending skills!
